Creative Enterprises, Inc.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Lawrenceville, GA dedicated to assisting adults with disabilities and others with barriers to employment in maximizing their potential. We offer a variety of programs and services to help these individuals obtain an optimal level of social, vocational, and economic independence. Some of the exciting things we have on our campus include a Thrift Store and Green house that are open to the public, a licensed Cat Shelter, and a variety of educational classes and outings.
Because of Lube 3000 we are able to keep our vehicles running smoothly and transporting individuals to and from our facilities each day. Some of our individuals have also been given work opportunities at the shop and learned valuable skills. Mike has also been a vital part of accomplishing many projects around Creative—finding us contacts, supplies, or actually digging in and doing the work himself. It is through community support, such as Mike Sanders of Lube 3000 and Steve Scott of Discount Framing have given us, that we are able to work together to ultimately enrich the lives of the individuals that we serve and create bright futures. ~ Julia Salsman 770-962-3908

Mike and I met about 20 years ago, both with a passion for cars. In all the years that I have been sending cars to Mike Sanders, I have never heard a negative comment about Lube 3000 or Mike. - Loy Whitley 770-962-0913

Society of Humane Friends – Jail Dogs Program

Operation Second Chance, or Jail Dogs, started in February 2010 as a partnership between Sheriff Butch Conway and the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department and Society of Humane Friends of Georgia. The program saves dogs from Gwinnett County Animal Control, vets and trains them, and offers them for adoption. It is, to the best of our knowledge, the first program of its kind in a jail. Most programs like this are in prisons, where the inmates are there for a long-term, known period of time. Inmates at Gwinnett's Detention Center are there often for short periods of time, with much inmate turnover on unit, which offers some unique challenges and opportunities. The Sheriff and his staff provide the unit and supervision, screen and select inmates for the unit, and welcome potential adopters into the unit to visit or adopt dogs. SOHFGA provides all financial support for the program (no taxpayer dollars are spent), selects the dogs, handles the application and screening process for potential adopters, and supports the volunteer efforts by the trainers and others.
